Island Winter- God is...

The Jersey Shore got a lot more snow than expected. We got about 8 inches! On Saturday we drove thru the snow to our friends who are in from England and she cooked a marvelous lasagna dinner. We felt special to be included in their dinner party. 4 Wheel Drive vehicles are a life saver when you have to drive thru snow. We saw 2 cars in ditches on the AC Expressway and on the way home we saw a car spin out and go into a ditch. Luckily they did not hit a tree!

Friday night our son and his wife had a sleep over in their new house with our daughter's family. We went over for pizza and we relaxed by a crackling fire...Aaron played a few songs on his ukelele and we went around and we each told a story about something that happened in one of the houses we each have lived in. It was fun reminiscing.

Today, Sunday, we went for a walk along the beach and boardwalk in the snow! I had fun taking pictures. Hope you like them...

We read Psalm 145 today and it is a comfort to see all the attributes of God.
God is Gracious
God is Compassionate.
God is Slow to Anger.
God is Rich in Love.
God is Faithful to all his promises.
God upholds all who fall down.
God is Great.
God is Worthy of Praise.
God is Righteous.
God satisfies the desire of every living thing.
God is near to all who call on him.
God fulfills our desire and hears our cry.
God watches over all who love him.

No matter how we find our way to God and what "religion" we profess, God wants to help us through on our journey. He is a prayer away.

We see God's majesty through his wonderful creation. May the Lord bless you this week.

Hope you have some fun planned. Maybe get a massage, or have a sleep over for the kids, or go out for dinner and a movie? There are so many good movies out now before Academy Awards. I used to make it a point to view all the ones up for best picture, rate them and write a review before the big night but not this year…

Another idea: Maybe have a few friends over to watch the Miss America Competition. A lot of fun! My friend throws a party every year! 8 pm EST TLC

Above are the preliminary winners. Who do you like? Who do you think will win? Watch and have fun picking the winner. These ladies are not only beautiful and fit, they are super intelligent and articulate and talented. That's what makes it so different than say the Miss USA contest which does not include talent and interview.

Has Miss America gotten any coverage in your area? I am sad there is not much in this area. My take is Hollywood did not want to sponsor intelligent, smart and for the most part conservative women....so it was dropped from a major network. Maybe Rush Limbaugh as a judge will help getting his audience to watch? With so many Cable choices they didn't get the ratings they used to...

Or maybe pack an ez dinner & a bottle of wine and go to a romantic setting for an in the car picnic…Many years ago in the winter, I got some KFC , a bottle of wine and 2 wine glasses and we drove down to Cape May and ate dinner down by the beach. In the car, of course!

Sunday night-Grammy's!

What are some cheap Date Night ideas you have?
