Sunrises at the Jersey Shore

We have been enjoying wonderful sunrises at the Jersey Shore! I am amazed at how different each sunrise is. A work of art from God each day! I am also moved when I think how far it is across the Atlantic Ocean to England. Someone once said, "We are but dust." Hope your last week of summer is spectacular. Can't wait for the next season. Tweeds, pumpkins, fall leaves! I hate to see summer go, but one thing I've learned we can't control the weather or the seasons.
God Bless you today. Your friend, Jennifer aka Gigi

What is man that you are mindful of him?

This is the day that the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. Ps.

We Will Never Forget!

Have you been to Ground Zero? I was very moved when we visited there after Sept. 11. We must remember that we are still at war. Let us be united in defending freedom. Teach your children well.

Pres. Bush"These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed. Our country is strong. A great people has been moved to defend a great nation.Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.America was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining"

Take time to listen to Bush's Speech. True leadership!

If you get to visit the Jersey Shore here are some restaurants not to miss...! Happy Dining! Happy Labor Day Weekend! Summer 2011 was fabulous! Enjoy! Jennifer aka Gigi

PS.My heart goes out to all the people who had loss from Hurricane Irene. We have dear friends whose home in Vermont was washed away.

Avalon - The Diving Horse

The Diving Horse is an upscale restaurant in downtown Avalon. Excellent service and superb food made for a perfect night.

We started with field greens with an excellent combination of strawberries, beets, pistachios and vinaigrette.

For appetizer - fried oysters with pancetta and creamy potato salad. A refreshing combination.

Main course a was perfectly grilled filet mignon with flavorful bordelaise sauce, asparagus and potatoes.

another great entree pan seared scallops with pearl pasta.

2109 Dune Drive Avalon (609) 368-5000

Cape May - Lobster House

The summer is not complete without a visit to Cape May and the Lobster House. We enjoyed a delectable lobster dinner with baked potato & cole slaw.

We started with delicious New England clam chowder, bread fried tomatoes,

garden salad with the best blue cheese dressing!

We also returned for an outstanding meal on the dock with u peel shrimp, fried seafood combination-scallops, crab, shrimp, deviled clams, & fish. One of the Top 10 Seafood Restaurants in the Country.

Sea Isle - Busch's

Busch's almost closed, but to our delight they didn't! We had a fabulous meal with fresh seafood and big portions of excellent seafood. Starting with the famous crab bisque. Exquisite!

Huge moist sweet scallops, delicious mac and cheese, perfectly fried shrimp, moist fish, crab cake, fish, crab imperial.

Great desserts- ice cream parfait & creamy cheese pie.

Cape May - The Chalfonte - Brunch

The Brunch @ The Magnolia Room @ The Chalfonte is excellent - A step back in time. We enjoyed a sunny relaxing day starting with coffee and fresh juice with Danish and bagels.

The buffet included fresh fruit including cantaloupe, honey dew melon, watermelon, peaches, scrambled eggs, southern delights spoon bread and grits, chicken & gravy, catfish, and biscuits. All outstanding.

Take time to rock on the chairs on the porch!

Cape May - The Ugly Mug

Ugly Mug is a casual bar on the outdoor mall in Cape May. I have always remembered them for their clam chowder and we recently stopped in for lunch. I was not disappointed. Piping hot with chunks of clams. We also enjoyed cheese steaks.

A great meeting place for lunch in Ocean City is Emily's at the Flanders.
