Super Bowl Food






Super Bowl Food

We had a fun Super Bowl Party. Plenty of food, a good game and great commercials.

Here is what was on the menu.

Veggies and Low fat Ranch Dressing

Hot Virginia Dip From Sweet Pea- Hot cream dried beef, cream cheese & pecans.

Nachos, Doritos, Salsa, Guacamole.

Calzones

Milky Way Cake

Citrus Cooler

Hot Virginia Dip from Sweet Pea

1 cup pecans, chopped
2 tsp butter
16 oz cream cheese, softened
4 T milk
5 oz dried beef, minced
1 tsp garlic salt
1 cup sour cream
4 tsp onion, minced

Directions:
Sauté pecans in butter. Reserve. Mix all ingredients thoroughly. Place in a 1 1/2 quart baking dish, top with pecans. Chill until serving time. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Serve hot with crackers or small bread sticks. Delicious!


Calzones from Amy

Pizza Dough (Store or fresh bought)

2 c. Shredded mozzarella cheese

¼ lb. hamburger, sausage, pepperoni

½ c. Ricotta cheese, basil, pepper

2 chopped Roma tomatoes, or canned diced tomatoes

1 egg

Roll out 2 pizza shape doughs. Top one with all ingredients except egg. Fold 2nd dough over top & pinch edges together w fork.

Brush with egg. Place on oiled bake sheet. 375 degrees 25min.

My daughter in law made the one below Yummy!

Sunny Citrus Cooler:

* 1 (46 fluid ounce) can pineapple juice

* 2 (12 fluid ounce) cans frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed

* 3/4 cup lemonade concentrate

* 6 cups ginger ale, chilled

* Orange slices Orange sherbet

Milky Way Cake from Sarah at the Glenn Beck Show

1 box yellow cake mix
1 stick unsalted butter
6 regular sized Milk Way candy bars [cut into 1 inch pieces]
1 Milky Way for topping
 
Melt the butter and candy bars together in microwave, stirring
occasionally.  Mix well.  Prepare the cake mix as directed/egg,oil,water.  
Stir in Milk Way mixture. Bake as directed in a bundt pan.350 for 40 min.
Top with chopped Milky Way when cool.

  3. Oh My Word!! Milky Way Cake...I can't even imagine how good that must have tasted...and the Calzones...I had all sorts of thing ready tomake for just me and the Boss and they are all still sitting in the fridge...Boss got the flu and didn't feel like eating....First time in 40 years the man did not want to eat...I celebrated!! LOL.
