Jennifer's Travel Journal - Newport Rhode Island

Jennifer's Travel Journal-Newport, Rhode Island

Newport Rhode Island is a great place for a nautical vacation. There is so much to see and do from sailing to shopping to touring the Mansions and Cliff Walk to great restaurants to tennis at the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Check out http://www.gonewport.com/

There are a wide variety of accommodations. We stayed at the charming Francis Malbone Bed & Breakfast, circa 1760, centrally located on Thames Street across from the harbor. Our stay was spectacular: amazing gourmet breakfasts & afternoon teas, friendly staff, comfortable rooms. The Inn is filled with lovely antiques and a lovely garden courtyard for outdoor dining. http://www.malbone.com/

Insiders Note: Robin Williams stayed here when Christopher Reeve’s daughter was married a few years ago. Also there was a George Clooney citing on the island when we were there.
