Fall Foliage - French Braid - Lobster Roll

Well it’s Friday!

Time to think about the weekend! The fall leaves should be beautiful in the North East. We plan to take a ride thru South Jersey to see where we can find some beautiful scenery. Maybe we will take the ferry to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware and the shopping outlets….Maybe we will go to Bushkill Falls in the Poconos and hike the mountains? Do you have any suggestions?

Check out peaks of fall foliage and get out and get some fresh air! In the North East, Sunday’s weather looks better than Saturday.

I had my hair French braided yesterday…what do you think?

Getting ready for the grandkids over Halloween weekend! Plan to make chili cheese fries, pork chops w apple stuffing, banana cream pie and Amy and I are going to make a pumpkin roll. They always look so lovely this time of year. It’s always best to try to make something before you make it for company so here goes…pics to follow…

Lobster Roll…mmm! Try buying a whole lobster and steaming it 10 min…pick out meat.
Lobster Roll Recipe 1 c. chopped lobster, mayo and celery, salt & pepper. Serve on soft buns. Mmmm!

Thanks to our nephew for 6 lobsters and stone crabs right off the boat in Cape May!

some cool websites hungry-girl and gwyneth!

Well it's Monday...Had a blast hosting a Birthday Party for my Mom last night with the fam. Baked ziti is my "go to meal" and can feed an army. Also made our traditional white cake with fluffy icing and coconut! Fun talking to my neice about playing on the tennis team, brought back memories of my high scool days...

Do you know about http://www.hungry-girl.com/ I saw her on Rachael Ray. She has tremendous tips on products that are figure friendly and great recipes. She is so popular, products now use her Hungry Girl seal of approval.

I also enjoy getting emails from Gwyneth Paltrow...How cool is that! I adore her website http://www.goop.com/ w recipes, fashion, restaurant tips, travel, (I am not into Kabbalah religion) but it is still a cool site.

After 4 days of rain I am looking forward to seeing the sun! Get outside and enjoy the sunshine. You're getting your Vitamin D right?

Saw my buddies on Dinner Impossible (Chef Irvine and George) miss going to the gym where I see George...havent decided if I should switch gyms...? Need to burn some calories!

Have a blessed week...Jennifer

Rachael Ray in Atlantic City

Here is the pic of Rachael Ray and Jennifer in 2006 when she was in Atlantic City. She was such a sweet person and took time talking to each person when she signed her book. Her husband chatted with her on stage for a while. We had on the same color dress!

Mama Mia's Restaurant Review

me & hubby!

Joe Massaglia Owner
Here is the link to the Restaurant Review for Mama Mia's in Egg Harbor Township. http://www.JerseyShoreJournal.com
That's Italian! New Mama Mia's Restaurant in EHT Superb -Fabulous - Delicious!

New on the restaurant scene at the Jersey Shore is Mama Mia's II in Egg Harbor Township. Owner Joe Massaglia's Mama Mia's restaurant is open after a long wait. You'll find an intimate setting that will make you feel like you are in Italy. The staff is very attentive and helpful and the food is fabulous. It should be at the top of the list of next places to dine....

Rainy weekend at the Jersey Shore - Mama Mia's and visiting the grandkids

Greetings! Happy Friday!
I have had a website for about 4 years...then I got on facebook...now I am starting a blog-after my daughter encouraged me. It just took me 15 minutes to figure out how to post, since I also just created a gmail acct, I was a little confused...

Well it's a rainy day at the Jersey Shore and going to be a rainy weekend. My main goal today is to write a review of the FABULOUS new Mama Mia's Restaurant in Egg Harbor Township (484 - 8877).(West Jersey & English Creek Rd) Last week we had a wonderful meal there and I cant wait to tell you all about it. It is the hottest new place, very intimate, (seats about 24)you'll feel like you are in Italy. Make sure to get reservations and my advice-this is not the place for kids. They have a great take out, if you have kids, but make this a night for just you and your sweetie! Mainly bc they dont have a kids menu and it is kinda pricey, but not over the top...and dont forget to dress up to make it an occasion. Owner Joe Massaglia and his staff are so helpful and attentive. Joe fileted the Mediterraen Sea Bass table side (so cool)....

so check back for my review later....and pics...

Spent the day yesterday on the Main Line of Philly at our daughters. It was supposed to be a day at the Philly Zoo or Longwood Gardens, but the weather did not cooperate. Instead we went SHOPPING...not bad....and started getting things for Christmas. Then had a delicious homecooked dinner starting with a glass of shiraz w crackers w blue cheese and goat cheese. Then moist crock pot chicken, real mashed potatoes, fresh cauliflower and homemade blueberry pie (My addition)!

The best was playing Chutes and Ladders and Candy Land w the grandkids! Little M said can Gigi come every night?...awww,too cute... also my darling hubby babysat the 2 younger while we went shopping...(Yes, he is a saint!)

Well if it's raining where you are, make the best...read a good book, rent a movie, make something yummy...(I must blog about my diet later@#$$)

I wonder if the Apple Fest in Upper Twp is cancelled on Sunday due to the rain?...I'll report back. Best homemade apple pies....ever....

Have a good weekend...Count your blessings...Jennifer

Coming Attractions...Pics of me w Rachael Ray, and shots of Giadda & Paula Deen in AC...
Ciao...Jennifer aka Gigi
