Oyster Plates
Have you ever heard of an Oyster Plate? The Oyster House in Philadelphia (above) has them decorating their walls. We had a great lunch there a while back. We all had oyster stew. Yum!
I got our Oyster Plate on ebay. Mine has Mother of Pearl on it. There are many different styles. Who knew? Have you ever heard of an Oyster Plate? Do you have one? I'd love to know.
We served Oysters Rockefeller and Clams Casino on ours this holiday. They are really cool don't you think? I got the seafood at the Lobster House in Cape May, NJ. Best seafood on the East Coast. (Taylor Swift was there are few weeks back)Her grandmother lives in the area.
Restaurant Week is coming up in Philly. Don't miss it if you are in the area. Jan. 23 - 27 & Jan. 30 - Feb. 3. The Oyster House is at 1516 Sansom St. Phila.

Beautiful dish, and perfectly plated, Jenl
ReplyDeleteI know a few people who collect oyster plates. I'll buy one if I ever see one for the right price in an antique store. Your Oysters Rockefeller and Clams Cassino look divine! I could eat the whole plate full by myself!
ReplyDeleteHi Sally...makes a fun way to serve seafood.
ReplyDeleteHi Paula...I would love to start a collection. Don't really have much space for them but they would look pretty on the wall. I think I paid about $34 plus shipping...Happy antiquing! Jen
