ReplyDeleteThat looks so good! I remember when I was a kid, my mom and aunt would go to a "you-pick-em" farm and get tons of strawberries. She'd freeze them and we had them for months. My birthday is in June, so she would make a white cake with strawberries in top. And, of course, plenty of strawberry shortcake to last the summer.
ReplyDeletegreat memories! Strawberries for Birthday Cake! Yum!
ReplyDeleteHave not done it but now I am going to! Thanks for the idea!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to the farm in Media..I will have to drag daughter there next time I come up...we used to go to the U-Pick-It farms down in Florida all the time when we lived there until we discovered we weren't alone...There were snakes everywhere!!...Not a good thing....and I loved the picture of your granddaughter eating that ear of corn...she looks like a real Jersey Girl!
ReplyDeleteTo The Mrs: Your kids will love it! and to Sue: I've never thought of snakes while picking...oh my! They make nice memories & they get to see where our food comes from. I can jsut picture "Miss B" helping you!

We love Linvilla Orchards and go there at least twice a year (usually in the fall for Harvest and winter to cut down our Christmas tree). I will definitely have to go this summer and pick some fresh fruit!
